Of Love and Boxes
A Danny Phantom One Shot
Pairing: Box GhostxLunch Lady
By Lydia 'Linariel'
Dedicated to: Felita 'teh-fail'

One female figure drifted around the harbor's shipping warehouse. If there had been any workers present that day they would have noticed the odd complexion of green to the woman's skin, her soft red eyes, and her cafeteria worker attire. This would only confuse the employee until they saw that the person was literally floating. Then whether or not they are a resident of Amity Park they'd come to a conclusion that it was indeed a ghost.

But no one was there today. The whole warehouse was practically empty. They were expecting a few shipments in the next day but all that remained were a dozen sealed cardboard boxes. So the Lunch Lady Ghost (for that was who it was) had the place all to herself. She hovered over those few boxes marked for transport to Casper High with a critical eye. Sometimes adjusting the balance so that nothing would spill out.

For you see the contents were labeled 'Milly's Meatie Pats' a rather peculiar name I supposed. But if you know this particular ghost her obsession with all things like this would come to mind. Ever so often the spirit would come to this plant to check over the schools purchases. Ever since the goth girl changed the menu for a short time the school had been under her critical eye. If anything of sorts did not follow the criteria she wished then the school would receive her wrath.

But she was a Lunch Lady it was her life when she was alive and now that she was deceased. She would see to it that the school maintained in her opinion a healthy diet for the little children. That and she did plan to release some meat minions for revenge on that tofu day they had last week. They never seemed to learn her way was law.

"Beware!" cried a voice from behind.

The cafeteria ghost turned around to glare at the intruder. She expected the halfa to be the one to ruin her plans. But instead there was... a vaguely blue gentleman ghost in overalls.

His red eyes blinked when he got a good look at her. Completely loosing his prepared speech he issued to every victim. "Uhm what are you doing?" he asked. Seeing her with the boxes puzzled him. "I thought I the Box Ghost was the only one who haunted boxes?"

Easing up now that she saw it was only a fellow ghost. She recognized him from various joint gatherings the ghosts had. "Oh don't worry I shan't be here long." She adjusted her hairnet that had fallen in her haste. "I'm just making sure that these packages reach the children of that little high school nearby."

Box Ghost stared at her then scratched his head before a conclusion met. "Well I'm the Box Ghost and I take care of all things cardboard and square." His voice coming our in a slight whine. "So beware back off!"

Lunch Lady Ghost was about to answer him but rumbling sounded. Fairly soon the whole building was shaking, various tools begun falling off shelves. A large twister (probably Vortex's doing) zoomed into the room with the shaking taking up anything in it's path. The two ghosts had nothing to worry being spirits of the dead and not limited to Earth's gravity but…

Her eyes fell on what was behind them. All of her work would be ruined if the twister happened to swallow up those packages. Lunch Lady Ghost's eyes set as she knew what she needed to do. Opening one of the boxes she quickly gathered all the meat that was inside till she was once again molded into a massive meat giant.

Using her ability she sacrificed a portion of the meat throwing it directly towards the twister, and causing its course to rapidly change. Sending another pile of amo she pushed it another way. The twister sucked up all the meat but followed the course she designed taking it away from her precious cargo and out the door. With all her meat armor gone she was now left her old self. But it didn't matter she'd only sacrificed one box of patties there were still eleven more.

In stunned silence her only spectator the Box Ghost watched in awe. Never before had he witnessed something so admirable. In his eyes she'd just sacrificed her meat to save his boxes even the one that was now empty remained intact. No ghost besides himself ever cared for these square like containers. Now that he got a good look at her she had a nice face. If you looked past a few things she was actually in his eyes sort of attractive. He cleared his throat to say something but the doors burst open again.

"Not again!" The Lunch Lady Ghost said her voice taking on a tone of frusteration and her eyes flashing red. She hovered near the box. Her fists begun to glow when she saw who entered the building.

The Box Ghost himself as tensed. For there in front of them was the snow white hair and glowing green eyed ghost boy Danny Phantom, and his two sidekicks. The goth girl and techno geek.

"Ah ha I knew I smelled meat!" cried the African American boy pointing to a few raw slices of beef near the entrance. Left over from Vortex's twister no doubt.

The girl only rolled her eyes. "You and your cannibalistic ways."

"Guys not right now." Danny said with a groan then turned his gaze to the leftover remnants of meat and the perpetrators. "Well Tucker was right there it is."

"Ha I told you I was precise and there is… wait how come the Box Ghost is here too?" Tucker Foley asked confused.

Sam shook her head tossing now floating hybrid the accursed fenton thermos. "Doesn't matter it's obvious they're up to something."

"Meat plus boxes rarely equals anything good." Danny nodded in agreement accepting the cylindrical container within his grasp.

"My dear children…" spoke up the Lunch Lady Ghost finally gathering all their attention. "I am merely taking care of your health by ensuring your school receives the proper supplies."

"I seriously doubt that." The goth girl glared at her folding her arms of her chest. "Besides for the hundredth time meat is fat. All it will do is clog up your arteries and cause major damage to your body."

Blood red flashed in The Lunch Lady Ghost's eyes causing the Box Ghost to move away from her intimidating persona. "SILENCE YOU KNOW NOTHING. MEAT IS IMPORTANT AND IT WILL REMAIN IMPORTANT!" She moved towards them but her acquaintance could tell she was weakened by her last battle.

For the first time The Box Ghost felt a need to step in for a fellow ghost. Maybe it was the way she'd protected those packages from harm. He wasn't entirely sure his motives. Placing his hand on his shoulder he flinched for the inevitable but her anger merely melted away as she glanced at him in surprise. "Allow me my lady."

Team Phantom stared at the Box Ghost having never heard something like that from him. The whole room seemed to quiet down.

Tucker was the first to break the silence. "Lady? Well admittedly she is called The Lunch Lady but she's not really a…"

"Yes she is!" The Box Ghost shouted his fists began glowing with purple energy as he called empty boxes minus The Lunch Lady's cargo to his aid. "Be prepared to learn respect for a lady who shows it almost as much as I the Box Ghost!" The boxes flew at them as the last words were spoken by the ghost. "BEWARE!"

The trio found themselves bombarded with boxes they were barely able to avoid being completely buried. Since when did the Box Ghost show this much ingenuity? Still the boxes were no match for Danny's powers. Even afterwards with the help of The Lunch Lady Ghost it wasn't enough.

A vortex of energy swirled out of the Fenton Thermos sucking in the two specters in before they could send anymore meat or boxes at them. Danny capped the lid and let out a long sigh. It had been quite a battle for once.

As the trio headed home to finish their homework and avoid any unwanted spectators. The hybrid enhanced hearing could make out the conversation of the duo from inside container.

"Thanks so much for the help sweetie. Even if it was all for lost you're the first one to actually help old me."

"You're welcome. It was the least I could do. But who are you calling old? You aren't any older then I the Box Ghost."

"You're too kind."

"How about I the Box Ghost make it up to you. Would you like to go haunt a few choice places together sometime?"

"It's a date!"

Danny stopped walking puzzling his girlfriend and best friend. "Eww…" he said with a cringe then his eye twitched as he tried to make sense of what he just heard. Then a little memory played in his mind of a certain little ghost from the future. Box Lunch and her supposed parentage. "Deju Vu." He murmured.

Had he really just helped those two become a couple? Time would only tell.

Wish: A Box Ghost Lunch Lady fic XDDDD I am curious to see they ending up together lol

I apologize for getting these in late. By the date they should have been submitted about 4 hours ago. However I was not going to submit them until they were all finished.

Happy Holidays!

I chose to do this because it seemed like the least likely to get done by anyone. I hope you like it Fel. :huggle: You asked for a fanfic. I just hope a one shot works because it was all I had time for. But I was intrigued with the idea. I haven’t honestly seen it done before. I hope my idea works.

BTW I may add cover art later I'm not sure :giggle:

But anywho please ignore any bad spelling I’ll try and fix it later when I get the time. ^^;

Disclaimer: I do not own any Danny Phantom characters from the series that honor goes to the incredibly creative Butch Hartman.
