He didn’t come.

She’d been standing out in the cold waiting for him. Yet her date hadn’t shown up. Jennifer had been stood up on the night of Prom. It probably had something to do with Donna that girl was always trying to outdo her. She must have stole her date. It could be the only reason when she’d called Virgil that she hadn’t received an answer. Sighing she slumped onto the front door step. Jennifer stared out onto the pavement as cars went by her eyes were drooped. She’d dressed all up for nothing.

A cold presence pulled her attention to the side. “What’s wrong Stardust.” Only one person she knew called her that. Glancing up she saw her annoying stalker Flick floating above. But instead of going ghost to deal with him she just rolled her eyes and looked away.

“Just go Flick.” Jennifer mumbled.

Glancing at her Flick’s eyes softened. “You look ravishing Stardust.” Then his eyes narrowed. “You’re crying.”

Jennifer glanced up brushing the tears away from her eyes. “Thanks for pointing out the obvious.”

Flick’s eyes widened. “Tonight is that big dance for your school isn’t it. What on earth are you doing out here?” Then he frowned. “Virgil didn’t come did he?”

“NO.” Jennifer shouted then looked away holding her hands tightly around her dress. “I guess he stood me up. It doesn’t matter though…” It just went to show that her inward insecurity was true. ‘I’m not pretty enough.”

“That isn’t true Stardust.” Flick said taking her hand in his pulling her up to stand. As if he’d read her mind. “You are the most beautiful girl I have ever met. Beauty is something expressed inwardly and outwardly. Beauty that appears before people fades with time but the beauty in your heart is what really makes you stand out.” Getting down on one knee he kissed her hand gently. “May I accompany you to the dance dear parta?”

Maybe it was his suave talking or his sweet words but Jennifer believed him somewhat. Tears this time of one who had been touched came about. “O-okay.” She stammered as a smile graced her lips. She may not completely be enamored by him but Flick had a way of getting underneath her skin and touching her heart. He was always there for her. “Thank you.” She said shyly as the two of them alighted into the sky.

“Your welcome.” Flick said with a smile. With that he carried her still in her mortal form through the sky towards the school dance.

I haven’t drawn a lot of Jennifer so I’m trying to do it more often.

An idea popped into my head to draw Jennifer and Flick in some kind of romantic moment. It was supposed to be a part of my series and would have included Adrian & Paige, and Lilith & Gerard too. But it turned out so big I just decided to do it separately.

I do love these two together. Flick is like Jennifer’s knight in shinning armor even when she doesn’t want him to be. But they’ll have their tender moments here and there. Jennifer is still fourteen in this she’s just wearing an dress that suits going to the dance and has her hair done up. I really like how she turned out. Of course Flick could have done something similar but I just couldn’t see it being his style plus it’s kind of a spur of the moment thing asking her to the dance.

Yes Flick was jealous of Virgil but he tries his best to support Jennifer and not interfere too much. He’s just not the type of guy. However you better believe he’s going to give Virgil a piece of his mind when this is all through.
